With know-how as accumulated over many years of operation as a steel warehouse of us, we cope with extra-heavy, extra-long, or other types of loads for which a high professional skill is required for taking an optimum weight balance. Also, the Tokyo, Yokohama, Sakai, and Amagasaki bases under our direct management are located at main ports, serving with a bonded stockyard, and allows handling of goods, whether they are at a yen or foreign currency basis. At private quays adjoining those bases, loading and unloading from conventional ships, barges, and deck barges can be conducted. It is also another feature of Sumitomo Metal Logistics Service Co., Ltd. that a consistent operation from product storage to load storing/retrieving management is available by using a warehouse as the base point, import and export.

In Yokohama, a product packaging center is also established, which is providing a whole service for import and export.

Presently, we have warehouses in Tokyo, Yokohama, Kashima, Osaka, and Kyushu districts, providing various warehouse services that meet specific product needs of the customer. For example, in Yokohama, we established as an annex a product packaging center as run by a cooperating company, which can provide wood or steel packaging to ideally suit the product characteristics and the customer's specifications. This packaging service allows rendering of a consistent logistics service for finished products as from the time of pickup to the delivery to the port of export and to the final destination. Also, by utilizing the know-how as a steel materials warehouse where high-quality storage is required, we are concentrating our effort on safe product storage, storing/retrieving management, and transportation with an emphasis on quality and a speedy communication to the customer.

Since SML has its private wharf and cranes, importing and exporting by using conventional ships are also possible. Even in case of large-sized machinery parts, motors, pumps, and tanks, we can provide many different works, ranging from a special work based on a large-sized crane to loading onto trucks to barging up to an ocean-going ship. For containers, we have plentiful know-how for vanning and devanning and are providing works that suit into the specific size of the cargo, from dry containers to special containers.

Our Yokohama facility has as an annex a sundries warehouse with a total box of 4000 sqm, for handling mainly of sundries and light-weight items. As it has an elevator and vertical conveyor, a container operating using six units of dock leveller is possible. A consistent service is available, ranging over cargo packaging, storage/retrieval, warehousing, customs clearance, vanning, devanning, and even.
